Currently there is no such thing as a proper consumer robot. Sure, there is Robosapien or i-Sobot but can those robots get you a drink or even greet you in the morning. We’re in the 21st century. We need a proper robot that can fetch me a drink, call my friend and bring me my chips. Yes, I know that this article will spur a whole bunch of controversy by naive people saying “This will cause humans to be lazy” or “Mankind is getting lazier each decade” but hey, we’re not living in 1990. Sure, we have a Robosapien V2 that can walk, talk and roam autonomously but that is a toy robot. I’ve only seen robots that are capable of doing those stuff in the industrial field but why not in the consumer field. I would sure buy it, that’s for sure. I know what you’re saying now, “it would cost millions” but it doesn’t have to cost a million. Firstly, you don’t have to make the robot walk, it could move around on wheels. Second of all, the robot doesn’t need to be humongous only about 42 inches. Here’s a concept robot below. Has several
sensors, can move with wheels and has a touchscreen which the consumer could use to control it. The concept obviously needs some refinements but it should be sufficent for a basic idea of what the robot should look like. What do you think about the idea of a consumer robot? Tell me your ideas and suggestions!
The BSOD was a joke. Do you think it should run Windows CE or Linux
