Partners in Time

I have been trying to break a previous record of Mario Luigi Partners in Time. Last month it took me 2 and a half weeks and now it is probably going to take me 5 days. I am already at the near end of the games battling Queen Shroob and will now (soon) hold the crown (at least in my neighbourhood) for the fastest time beating Mario Luigi Partners In Time. It wasn’t exactly  4 days as within a timeframe of 4:00 to 6:00 EST weekdays (2 hrs) and 1:00 to 5:00 weekends (4 hrs). Since I started on Thursday, I spent 4 hrs on (total as of now) weekdays and 8 hrs on weekends. I just noticed something with-in my timeframe I have almost beat it in less than a day! (APPLAUD). Now to officially beat the game I need to destroy Princess Shroob.

Disclaimer: The game has a built in timer.

Insane. Preposterous. Outrageous. Absurd. Ridiculous. Peculiar. Part 2

Before we continue I have contacted Nintendo regarding the Wii shortage and have gotten a reply

Message(#6851-000688-7826\6887826)

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been so far unable to purchase a Wii console. We have heard from others like you who have had similar difficulty. We share your frustration, as each instance is a lost opportunity for Nintendo, so I’d like to explain what we’ve done to address the issue.

We have spent the last year drastically increasing production and shipping product as quickly as possible. Many things factor into our being able to effectively increase assembly and shipment of a product without compromising quality control, but I want you to know that we continue to do all we can to get as much product as possible into stores, maintaining the same level of production and shipping regularly. We anticipate now that the holidays have passed that the Wii console will become easier to find. I encourage you to keep looking.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.

Now let’s continue

The Star Spangled Banner

The Wii shortage in United States doesn’t seem to be any better. At Amazon(.com) the Wii is out of stock. Let’s go to a popular United States site. In BestBuy the Wii is again sold out. At Ebgames there is a little bit more hope. They sell the Wii but the only thing is you have to buy it in a bundle that cost $399.99 and is not released until June 27 2008. At most of the sites it isn’t sold but in some stores in United States (friend checked) it is in stock.

The Wii check is now done but later we will talk about the specs and “fun” of the Wii.

Read the fine print.

I am on Ebgames (ca) site and come across a supposedly interesting promotion,

Trade in 8 and get a new PS3 40 GB for $199.99.

I click “Details” and come across a different promotion

Trade in 8 games and get a used 40 GB PS3 Console for $199.99.

I read the even finer print, it reads

Receive a new 40 GB PS3 for $199.99 when you trade in 8 games. Trade valid on PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS, X360 games. Games must include boxes and instructions. Applies to titles with a minimum $8 trade value only. Some titles may be excluded. Limit one per costumer. Trade offer only available where applicable by law. Offer may be discontinued at any time.

One confusion that will cause normal consumers to get confused.

Lets see how much the deal is really worth! Let’s pretend we’re the average gullible consumer and run

Are all words that describe the ludicrous Nintendo Wii shortage. This is just “crazy”. OMG. For 5+ months the Wii was on a shortage. Let’s watch the shortage with the eye of different countries

O Canada

I’ll start with Canada’s telescope. Since Amazon (ca) doesn’t sell the Nintendo Wii, I’ll go to Toys“R”Us. They sell the console… but … it is “temporarily unavailable online”

We’re now in ‘BestBuy’ and are searching the aisles for a Wii. We see a sign that points to consoles at the right. You see the 360, the PS3, the PS2 and the Gamecube but don’t see a Wii. You ask a sales rep and he says that their computer says “Quantity Remaining: 0”. You try to hold your anger but then see Mario Kart Wii on the shelves and yell like a little kid. The whole store screams in terror until you see a guy who dropped something he was about to buy.

You pick up the Wii, read the label an see the site

You go to the vacant hall leading to the cashier and put the Wii down an demand that the cashier scans it. The cashier hesitates and does and yells out ”PEACE”. You give him a glaring look and he whimpers like a kid.

to be continued

Update: I have seen the Nintendo Wii in Zellers

Let’s cut the cake

HP Voodoo Envy

with the HP Voodoo. It’s not just Apple’s trick the HP Voodoo Envied the Apple Macbook Air and now can cut the cake.  The Envy and the Air and the X300 have a 64 GB solid state drive. All of the ultra thin notebooks have a screen that’s 13.3 inches. I envy this notebook greatly due to the processor and running of so called “crap” “Vista”.
